%X The article represents a handwritten medical book from the second half of the 19th century. Its source is perhaps a printed book from the previous century, but the paper does not analysis the manuscript itself. Rather it is dealing with the compillator himself. József Ökrös (1816-1893) was a weawer, one of the latest leader of the gild in Kunszentmárton (County Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok). He established a singing society (1845) and later the Living Rosary Confraternity (1851). At the same time he was an acknowledged writer of religious songs an leader of pilgrimages to Máriaradna. All of his activities show of the characteristics of so called „holy men".
