In spite of that this rigority reduced dramatically to turn of the centuries XVIII–XIX., its role remains for a long time in religious people’s life. The church government kept its eyes on believers’ actions and urged them to repent because of their socially reprehensible acts but its punitive power started to be narrower than state judiciary and its sanctions also got lower.
