In spite of that this rigority reduced dramatically to turn of the centuries XVIIIâXIX., its role remains for a long time in religious peopleâs life. The church government kept its eyes on believersâ actions and urged them to repent because of their socially reprehensible acts but its punitive power started to be narrower than state judiciary and its sanctions also got lower.
