TY - CONF TI - Preparation and characterization of chitosan encapsulated karrikin 2 KW - Gyógyszerkémia KW - Biopolimerek KW - Biotechnológia SP - 232 UR - http://acta.bibl.u-szeged.hu/85724/ N2 - The aim of this study was to encapsulate karrikin 2 (KAR 2) molecules, a class of plant regulator butenolides, in low molecular weight chitosan microcapsules. Karrikin 2, known for its stimulating effects on seed germination in certain plant species, was selected as the active ingredient. Chitosan, a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer, was chosen for its ability to form micro- and nanoparticles and its environmentally friendly production. The encapsulation process was expected to increase the bioavailability and retention of karrikin 2, allowing for a more controlled and sustained release in biological systems. The microcapsules were characterized to assess the success of the encapsulation. These characterizations are vital for understanding the performance of the microcapsules in practical applications and for optimizing the encapsulation process for potential use in agriculture and plant biotechnology.
