Történettudomány és régészet description: Following World War I, social gatherings and artistic programs were organized throughout the country, with proceeds dedicated to charitable purposes. One type of such event was a dance gathering or ball, which could be held in both the capital and provincial towns within centrally regulated frameworks, aimed at serving the public good. In Makó—a town that, after the Treaty of Trianon, found itself on the country’s periphery and was undergoing a shift in its regional role while maintaining a vibrant cultural life—numerous dance events were organized in line with national practice, with all proceeds donated to charity. In our study, based on documents from 100 years ago, we outline the issues surrounding the authorization of dance gatherings in Makó. Between 1923 and 1930, a total of 49 applications were submitted to the mayor of Makó for permission to organize dance events, with each approval subject to specific conditions. publisher: Belvedere Meridionale date: 2024 type: Cikk, tanulmány, mű type: NonPeerReviewed format: part language: hu identifier: http://acta.bibl.u-szeged.hu/86522/1/belvedere_2024_003_132-147.pdf identifier: Apjok Vivien; Kasza Dániel; Klima Döníz: Táncvigalmak a jótékonyság szolgálatában Makón a két világháború közötti időszakban = Dance events in service of charity in Makó during the interwar period.
