Hungría se convirtió en uno de los espacios fabulosos en la dramaturgia áurea y fue Lope de Vega quien escogió con más frecuencia esta ambientación. Podríamos pensar con razón que estas “comedias húngaras” despertaron la atención de los hispanistas húngaros, sin embargo, no era exactamente así. De entre los 25 dramas de temática húngara la única pieza que fue traducida y estrenada en Hungría fue El animal de Hungría, sin embargo, otro, La corona de Hungría causó mayor repercusión en la prensa húngara. La copia del manuscrito de esta comedia fue una donación de Stefan Zweig enviada en 1935 al Teatro Nacional de Budapest. El objetivo del presente artículo es, por un lado, resumir la suerte enigmática de este regalo perdido y luego encontrado y, por otro, llamar la atención a la falta de traducciones húngaras de “las comedias húngaras” de Lope de Vega. Palabras clave: Lope de Vega, La corona de Hungría, Stefan Zweig Abstract: Hungary became one of the fictional locations in the dramaturgy of the Golden Age and it was Lope de Vega who most often chose this setting. We could assume that these “comedias húngaras” captured the attention of Hungarian Hispanists but it was not exactly the case. Among the 25 Hungarian-themed dramas, the only piece that was translated and premiered in Hungary was El animal de Hungría. However, La corona de Hungría had bigger press coverage in Hungary. The copy of the manuscript of this comedy was a donation of Stefan Zweig, and was sent in 1935 to the National Theater of Budapest. The aim of this article is to summarize the enigmatic fate of this lost and then found manuscript and to call attention to the fact that there are no Hungarian translations of Lope de Vega’s “comedias húngaras”
