In research of early Arp&l-era of Hungarian history the role of written sources is of utmost importance. Unfortunately* this age is rather poorly-documented in this type of sources. The author in this study undertook to describe the growing number of foreign written sources relating to Hungarian history, a phenomenon, which took place in the last few decades. A further growth in number of sources in the future could be facilitated by a systematic research of foreign archives and periodicals. However, this work will need a more generous support.
