At the end of 2010, the Tunisian administration was overthrown for fi rst time in the country’s history by the revolution of the people. Th e author of the present article analyses the political and social eff ects of the “Jasmine Revolution” in Tunisia and also gives an overlook of the precedents and the historical background of the revolution.
