Absztrakt (kivonat)
The beginning of the Iron Age brought significant changes to everyday life in the Carpathian Basin. Many different cultural complexes had an impact on this area from around 800 BC. I conducted my investigations in search for the elements arriving from the south, namely from Hellas and the Balkan Peninsula towards a territory best described as South Pannonia. This region seems to be culturally intertwined throughout the Late Bronze Age and all of the Early Iron Age as well. The borders of this area are the river Sava in the south and the Srem region in the east, while the northern and western limits are less clear - they may lay around the river Kapos and the river Mura. As these are the centuries, from the 8th to the 6th BC, which are the most active periods of the Greek colonisation, one cannot be surprised that the products and ideas of the Hellenised world travelled great distances. The products which may bear effects, or may themselves arrive from the south, are categorised as follows: ceramics, elements of attire, jewellery, weapons. The main influences can be sought in techniques of production as granulation, filigree, or black painting on red base. Some decorations - meanders, serpents and palmettes - seem to derivate from southern art as well. Forms of the objects could also help, as in the case of askoi, kantharoi, tripodes, oinokhoai and kemoi, all from Hellenised ceramic tradition, or the omega and Boetian shield shapes. It is also necessary to pay attention to the spread of these objects. Some of them can be traced back in time and space to the southern parts of the Balkan Peninsula. Among these items, the most important ones may be the special types of weaponry: the Graeco-Illyrian and Corinthian helmets and cire perdue greaves of the princely graves in Kaptol, Croatia. These could be original products imported from workshops in Hellas.
