Absztrakt (kivonat)
The purpose of this treatise is to search similarities and differences, which appear in the works of the famous 3rd century Carthagian bishop, written in adverse his lapsed and heretic “colleagues.” The former ones are primarily the objects of the De Lapsis and the 65. and 67. epistles, while the latter ones appear in the De Ecclesiae Unitate and in many epistles. Their comparative analysis is motivated by the fact that the author’s purpose in both cases is to prove that these ecclesiastic leaders became inconvenient to their office and as a reason of this to do their job subtantially. Causes mentioned by Cyprian are the followings: they call wrongfully for the right of making sacrifice; their sacraments are invalid because of their sins; they are separated from the Church; their inaptness is proclaimed by both contemporary and former bishops and synods; and finally, they contaminate their followers, so it is necessary to be separated from them. These arguments are solely in use about both groups, so it can be supposed that the lapsed and heretic bishops in Cyprian’s opinion were not sharply different from each other, therefore he might have used the same thoughts about the former group to apply them to the latter one as well.
