In my study I concentrated on describing the story of creation of Mihály Vörösmarty’s Hymnus. I have tried to find answer for the question if the Hymnus fill the requirements of a „national king’s anthem”. I have managed to determine that not the whole Hymnus can be considered as a „national king’s anthem”, only the first strophe due to it apostrophizes the king. The following strophes addressed God to help the nation. The Hymnus was written for the request of the Kisfaludy Társaság as a confirmation of the company and to have a melodized anthem for Hungary which is in connection with the Kisfaludy Társaság. Besides, the Hymnus have not became as popular as it was supposed when they have ordered the anthem.
