Resumen: En el ámbito cinematográfico había ya señales de cambio en los años anteriores a la muerte de Franco (por ejemplo, el cine metafórico de Carlos Saura ), sin embargo, fue el movimiento contracultural llamado la Movida el que abrió las puertas a la presentación de la España postfranquista. El máximo icono, sin duda, es Almodóvar, pero surge toda una generación de directores jóvenes como Fernando Trueba, Fernando Colomo y muchos más. Entre varias películas emblemáticas de la época quisiera destacar y analizar El disputado voto del Sr. Cayo (Antonio GiménezRico, 1986), versión cinematográfica de la novela de Miguel Delibes, escrita en 1978, que pretende abarcar toda la complejidad de las primeras elecciones libres, vistas desde una perspectiva de los años ochenta. Palabras clave: censura, libertad, la Movida Madrileña, cambios Abstract: In the last years of Franco’ s dictatorship there were some directors like Carlos Saura with a different idea about making films both in thematical and artistic terms. Hovever, it was the new cultural underground movement in Madrid which changed dramatically the way of thinking about life, politics and arts in the post- Franco period. Beside of the emblematic figure, of Almodóvar in the cinematography, appeared a new generation like Fernando Trueba, Fernando Colomo and many others. Their works reflect the radical changes carried out in the mentality, society and politics. I would like to highligt the film Mr. Cayo’ s Disputed Vote (Antonio Giménez-Rico, 1986), adaptation of Miguel Delibes’s novel (1978). Both the novel and the film are dealing with the complexity of the first democratic elections.
