Unfair competition forms a part of competition law and deals with the safety of economic competition and protects consumers. It was not until recently that this differentiation appeared in legislation. Hungary was similar to the area of industrial states such as England, French, Belgium or Italy, countries that provided protection against unfair competition under the general civil law. However, the regulation in the purely civil law in our country has not been sufficient. Hungary made of a specific act which ensured the protection against the unfair competition. The primary aim of my research was the examination of court practice, and I would like to find out whether or not this specific act has been successful. After the processing of the unfair competition laws of the Royal Courts of Appeal in Szeged, I established that the regulation has reached the goal as it is suitable for providing proper protection.
