La creación de las identidades territoriales dase desde una historicidad espacial asociada a los movimientos político-administrativos y económicos en el tiempo y el espacio. Una de las características más destacadas de esta creación es la frontera, un mecanismo de límite y definición de proyectos de política territorial, cuyos agentes pueden y deben ser identificados en las investigaciones académicas de las ciencias sociales y políticas. La ciudad-estado Río de Janeiro, en Brasil, posee una historia bastante sui generis en relación con la creación de sus identidades expresadas no solamente en sus distintos territorios sino en perspectivas antropológicas y sociológicas diferenciadas, con fuerte impacto espacial. El ser “carioca” o ser “fluminense” en Brasil implica condiciones espaciales que refuerzan la idea de que hoy, frente a la metropolización en el mundo, las fronteras territoriales necesitan ser revisadas y repensadas para que una nueva condición de pertenencia a los territorios sea creada y fortalecida para la calidad de vida en ambientes demográficamente millonarios de las grandes metrópolis del mundo. The creation of territorial identities is based on a spatial historicity associated with political-administrative and economic movements over time and space. One of the most striking features of this creation is the boundary, a limiting mechanism and definition of territorial policy projects, whose agents can and should be identified throughout the academic researches in the areas of social and political sciences. The city-state Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, has a very sui generis history in relation to the creation of its identities that are expressed not only in distinct territories but also in distinct anthropological and sociological perspectives, with a strong spatial impact. Being a Carioca (from the city) or being from Rio de Janeiro state involves space conditions that reinforce the idea that today, facing the world’s metropolization, territorial boundaries need to be revised and rethought so that a new condition of belonging to the territories is created and strengthened for the quality of life in environments demographically millionaires of the great metropolis of the world.
