This paper presents the issue of the fate of the important industrial units from the city of Cluj, developed and nurtured by the fi ve-years plans of the Communist regime, following to the fall of the Communist system. Following to the implosion of the Communist state-planned economy the industrial system was restructured toward a market-economy, through a series of privatizations and restructurations, which lead to a series of problems.
