The peculiarities of the criminal remedy systems as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the appeal of two degrees are treated in the study. On the basis of the new Hungarian law on criminal procedure (LI. 2006) it gives account of and analyses, while commenting them, the criteria that determine the appeal system of two degrees: the right of appeal, the revision, binding on the conclusion of fact, the resolutions, and the procedural forms in the procedure of the third degree.
