In my work, I present one decade of history of the General Hospital Subotica after the First World War, based on archival sources and press history research. Furthermore, I made the following topics as the subject of my research: relevant aspects of general stringency, large-scale poverty, diseases and epidemics, and contingencies in administration. I analysed the connection between health care and poverty, and its specific moments in connection with the examination of the institution’s history. In my work, the dysfunctions of the period’s health care system come to the fore.
