Mihály Párducz, the former researcher of the Hungarian National Museum and Institute of Archaeology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences spent a significant part of this life in the Institute of Archaeology of the University of Szeged ʦ first, as a student (1927-1932), later, from 1932, as a colleague. He learned both theoretical and practical fundaments of archaeological research in the Szeged school hallmarked by Árpád Buday and János Banner. Sailing through the ranks in the Szeged Institute of Archaeology, Párducz took a great part in the instituteʓs activities, investigationsʇ It was during his Szeged years that his attention turned to one of his most significant fields of research: he was the first to identify the find material of Sarmatians in Hungary. It was here that he became a mature scholar. Starting from his freshman year he worked at digs (e.g. HódmezővásárhelyʦKökénydomb, Ószentiván) and in 1932, led his first substantive excavation in HódmezővásárhelyʦKotacpart. From 1939, he took more and more part in the organization work of the institute and in editing the journal Dolgozatok (Papers). In the university, first, he had practical classes, and from 1943 read lectures as a private professor. As a research fellow of the South Plain Archaeological Cadaster Institute formed in 1940, he arranged the collections of the Makó and Zombor/Sombor museums.
