Absztrakt (kivonat)
The paper elucidates the history of a trial that arose from a tax collection in the towns of Szatmár and Németi (today Satu Mare, Romania) in Szatmár county. This towns belonged to Serbian ruler, Despot Stefan Lazarević. With the help of the well known documents published by Lajos Thallóczy and Antal Áldásy and some so far ignored sources, the paper explores the case of a tax abuse on the estates of the despots.
