In 1913, the book of short stories entitled Erős fényben (In Strong Light) was published by the Tevan publishing house in Békéscsaba. The author gave his pseudonym Crayon. And although Tevan was one of the best publishers in Hungary at the time, the author’s identity has not been found out since. Critics of the time wrote that a female author was behind the pseudonym, and Gyula Juhász, who lived in Szeged, also knew that the author lived in Szabadka. This is also indicated by the fact that the cover of the book was designed by Sándor Oláh, also from Szabadka. Moreover, a copy of the book has recently been found, which the author signed to Géza Csáth, and all this together has made it certain that the author is to be sought in Southern Hungary. Finally, it turned out that the pseudonym was not only a writer, but also a painter. Crayon later became a painter and had exhibitions in France and England.
