Absztrakt (kivonat)
The study uses the example of Tatárszentgyörgy to examine the housing situation of the Roma population and the possibilities of the local government to address the problems. Based on personal questionnaire research, it shows that a significant proportion of Roma families live in poor quality, uncomfortable and overcrowded housing. The analysis highlights the financial constraints of local government, the lack of state involvement and the deeper structural problems of social exclusion. The author describes the “From Hand to Hand” social model of municipality, which provides personalised assistance and is based on institutional cooperation. The paper stresses that long-term solutions can only be achieved through structural changes, increased public support and local, bottom-up initiatives.
