Absztrakt (kivonat)

Corporate governance is an internal system encompassing policies, processes and people, which serves the needs of shareholders and other stakeholders, by directing and controlling management activities with good business savvy, objectivity, accountability and integrity. In the case of government-owned companies orderly operation and management is crucial, since they are spending the property of the tax-payers. In the greatest corporate scandal in Hungary, that of the BKV millions of Euros were wasted on fictious services. The case has several considerations on corporate governance regulation and practice in Hungary. In my paper, as a case study, I present the corporate governance system of the BKV and analyze the responsibilities concerning the BKV scandals from an organizational point of view.
