The revival of monitoring in reference to intelligence services is always a matter of great political shock or change of regime. In most cases the new political elite’s tool for self-legitimizing is to expose the forebears of the predecessors, reviving its corrupt, evil cruel traits. In this regard the new power appears as the ‘warrior of justice’, as the ‘byword of moral good’. Related to the change of system, – quite rightly –, we expect something similar. However in the case of Hungary the general practise seems more different. Besides of the success libertine scandal of Hungarian press, and the voter-bait practise of political opposition, we can declare that Hungary is the only one post-communist state where the reckoning of the ambigous cases of the previous system have not happened yet. In my discurse I’m searching the answers for one exact questions: The change of regime why has not given az opposite meaning for the assessment of „NATOspies” and the rehabilitation in their case why could not have happened? After presentating some well-known press-up stories, I attempt to answer my question by considering the aspects of law, policy, secret services and the characteristic of specific legal treatment.
