The Sierra Gorda National Park is a young preserve area in the north-eastern part of Querétaro state in Mexico, wich was founded in 1997. The area of this national park consists mainly jurassic-kretaceous limestone. The most characteristic karstic features are poljes (for example Tilaco), collapse dolines (chasms; Sotano del Barro: the biggest collapse doline in the World) and the extraordinarily rich travertine formations.
