Absztrakt (kivonat)
The human history has been devided into three main ages: modern times, Middle Ages, and ancient times, respectively. Ancient times were preceded by the so called prehistoric ages, when verbal culture was predominant. Evolution of writing tooke place about 3-5 thousand years B.P. The series of slave-holder empires ended by collapse of Roman Empire in A.D. 476. The first historic and prehistoric civilizations, having made more or less impress on European culture, are discussed in this paper. It is emphasized that these old civilizations developed in low latitudes, i.e. in warm climatic regions, suitable for grow a great number of various useful plants. The stabilization of climate occured about 10.000 years B.P. and it coincided with origins of agriculture in different geographic regions, e.g. Near East or southwest Asia, east Asia, Africa, Mesoamerica, and South America.
