Were the adult people in the Medieval Hungary indifferent to their children or can we found examples for the attitude of loving care? Some stones in Hungarian sources reflect a horrorisric picture. According to a contemporary writer István Brodarics, after the lost batde of Mohács (1526) mothers buried their litde children, so that the cry of the babies did not betray them. On the other hand, there are many examples in the sources about the gendeness and loving care of the adults toward their children. According to Herbord's biography about St. Otto of Bamberg, King Bela the Blind told a beautiful prayer for his litde daughter, when he let her go to the German Empire to get married there. In the catalogue of the miracles that happened through the intercession of Saint Margaret of Hungary we can read about a little boy, who asked her mother to pray for him. King Bela IV. put his hand on the shoulder of her daughter, Margaret, when he was talking to her. In sources telling about accidents that happened to children we can read some strange reactions of some adults, but also about the serious anxiety of their parents. The assumed indifference of the parents towards their children cannot be really proved based upon Hungarian sources. There are examples, where surrounding people were helpful to children, with whom the accident happened. The collection of the miracles — that happened due to the intercession of Saint Paul the Hermit - mentions that the young people were just playing on the ice, as it was a general habit of that time of life. So, the author was aware of the habit of youngsters which was different from that of the adults.
