During the collation of traditional and modernized dance cultures I place the emphasis on the social role and status of the dance, by which I verify the theory that traditional and modern phenomena of this culture form homogeneous, comparable and functionally continuous categories. Modernizational mechanisms that influenced local lifestyle concluded the transformations of certain phenomena in the dance culture of Visa, which resulted in the following dichotomy: on one hand, novelties infiltrated the village, whereas a demand for preserving traditional values appeared coincidentally. All these processes cannot only be experienced in cultural phenomena relating to dancing, but they also influence social relations.
