The article analyses the specifics of the female image in Dokiya Humenna’s novel, Bless Mother!. The novel is considered to be the writer’s artistic interpretation of the epoch of matriarchy, with a distinct image of a clever woman who possesses magical knowledge and abilities to guard and protect her family. In this tale-assay the image of Mother symbolizes the whole age of Trypillya, which was described with the help of old legends, myths and beliefs organically interwoven into the plot of the novel. Humenna opens her work with the pictures o f the past, describing the main idea of the woman with demigoddess images with which she shows the power and invincibility of our ancestors who relied heavily on their mothers in everything.
