Abstract

In the 1870s to the East Szabadka (today Subotica, Yu) Virgin Mary appeared next to a marsh at a spring. Since then the water of the spring has got healing power. It becames the place of pilgrimage for the Catholic Hungarians and Croatians and Ortodox Serbs. The first Ortodox chapel was built here in 1883 and the Roman Catholic in 1896.
