In the miraculous image of the church in Szeged Alsóváros Our Lady Dressed in Sun is demonstrated as the compendium of Mary Studies. This demonstrates the Turkish defeating Virgin Mary, the Lady of Hungary with images from the theories of observantia Immaculate to the cosmic queen dressed in light. In 1638 the painter found the predecessor of the oil painting painted in the 17th century on a copperplate of which inscription „Patrona Hungáriáé" could be read on Hungarian coins from the area of King Matthias to the year 1946. The huge votive picture in which the figure entitled Auxiliatrix Szegedienis was surrounded by Saint Michael and Saint Gabriel, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Anthony of Padua and the martyr virgins Kathrine and Barbara who were also honoured in Szeged. The votive pitwe of István Antonovics is rare because of the text of the offering, its coat-of-arms and the figure dressed in Hungarian clothes. On a Renessaince vestment of 1773 King Matthias pays homage in Hungarian clothes and coat-ofarms to the Lady of Szeged. The 500-year-old Franciscan church honoured King Matthias as its benefector in the earlier centuries.
