Le chapitre analyse trois romans récents de jeunes autrices postmigrantes – Illégitimes de Nesrine Slaoui, Ajar-Paris de Fanta Dramé et Streulicht [Lumière diffusée] de Deniz Ohde – qui illustrent comment la transmission d’un faible capital économique, social et culturel fait des enfants des parents issus de l’immigration des victimes préprogrammées du désavantage social. Leur altérité sociale et ethnique remplit les narratrices-protagonistes d’une certaine honte. À la différence d’Ernaux ou de Louis, cela ne se traduit pourtant pas par une apathie fondamentale à l’égard de leurs propres origines. Au contraire, les relations aussi tendues qu’ambiguës, mais généralement problématiques, que les adolescentes entretiennent avec leurs parents révèlent une profonde empathie qui est articulée par différentes stratégies narratives qui permettent la prise en compte de la perspective et influencent ainsi le jugement des lecteurs et lectrices de telle sorte que les représentant.e.s des couches sociales défavorisées bénéficient d’une compréhension plutôt empathique. The contribution analyzes three recent novels by young postmigrant women authors – Illégitimes by Nesrine Slaoui, Ajar–Paris by Fanta Dramé and Streulicht [Diffused Light] by Deniz Ohde – which illustrate how the transmission of low economic, social and cultural capital makes the children of parents with a migrant background pre-programmed victims of social disadvantage. Their social and ethnic otherness fills the narrator-protagonists with a certain shame. But unlike Ernaux or Louis, this does not lead to a fundamental apathy towards their own origins. On the contrary, the tense and ambiguous, but generally problematic, relations between the teenage girls and their parents reveal a deep empathy that is articulated by various narrative strategies that allow a certain understanding and thus influence the reader’s judgment in such a way that the representatives of disadvantaged social classes benefit from a rather empathetic understanding.
