Absztrakt (kivonat)

Next to today’s Hungarian-Romanian border, in the northwestern border of the Battonya settlement, the site of Battonya–Parázs-tanya is located, which is one of the most important middle-late neolithic tell settlements in the region. The site is surrounded by a natural watercourse, which created ideal living conditions even for prehistoric people. The agricultural value of the soil surrounding the Neolithic settlement is very high, and its water balance is excellent, which also favored the Neolithic communities. It is an important fact that another significant Neolithic settlement was also found within the reachable distance of the area, namely the almost fully destroyed Battonya–Gödrösök, which could certainly have been closely related to the tell settlement of Parázs-tanya. The central tell located at Parázs-tanya and the surrounding settlement was a huge, almost „urban” settlement, with roads, boulevards and concentrical moats. The site was excavated in 6 seasons between 1975 and 1981 under the leadership of Júlia G. Szénászky and György Goldman. Various anthropomorphic clay plastic and ceramic artefacts were already found at this time. In 2022, during the extensive field trip carried out jointly with the supervision of the University of Miskolc, numerous ceramic fragments, stone and bone tools and some cult objects were also collected. The finds collected a few years ago can be linked to the period of the Szakálhát, Tisza and Proto-Tiszapolgár like cultures. However, the typical and common middle and late Neolithic finds also contained a few rarer object types, namely a few anthropomorphic idols and vessel fragments. In my study, I mainly present these human-like cult objects found in 2022, but I also mention the important ceramic fragments of a similar age and purpose from previous excavations of the site.
