Historical sources of a Reformed parish can be so diversified. While the local history research focuses on the secular documents generally, my study mainly based on the rarely-analized church sources’ historical data, especially the disciplinary documents. These can appear in large type of forms: penitence lists and presbyterian protocols registered locally, recordings of church visitations or documents made by upper church administration levels’ decision-making institutions. Scope of my research is to present diversity of church discipline sources with the example of village of Zerind as well as to show: what kind of information can the present’s people find about the life of a medium-sized Hungarian Reformed community in the XVIII-XIX. centuries.
