Absztrakt (kivonat)
The Hernád valley, vertically crossing and dividing the Northern Mountain Range, for centuries played a special role in the geographical division of labour of the Carpathian Basin as well as in securing the exchange of material goods. The population of settlements was set on the possibly most effective utilization of the potencial energies based upon the favourable valley-location in order to ensure a modest, but stabile level of their subsistent economy.
