A través del ejemplo del estado de Michoacán, el presente artículo busca rastrear el papel transversal de actores civiles de violencia en el contexto del sistema federal mexicano. Mediante el análisis de ejemplos entre los siglos XIX y XXI, se aspira ubicar los recientes grupos de civiles armados, en específico las policías comunitarias y grupos de autodefensa surgidos entre 2008 y 2014, en la lógica del federalismo mexicano. Based on the example of the state of Michoacán, this article seeks to trace the crosscutting role of civilian actors of violence in the context of the Mexican federal system. By analyzing examples from the 19th to the 21st century, the goal is to contextualize specifically the community police and self-defense groups that emerged between 2008 and 2014 within the logic of Mexican federalism.
