Para José Joaquín Fernández de Lizardi los avances del liberalismo simularon fines nacionalistas; pero los enterraron, porque el medio peso diario que le asignó el presidente Victoria se lo robaron, mentirosos todos, enemigos furibundos de un estado de bienestar generalizado en los obrajes, las escuelas y la familia. Lizardi murió de hambre. Pasó de la oralidad a la escritura. Según él “hizo lo que pudo por su patria”; pero fue corrupta. El Pensador no calló las injusticias que enterraron las victorias de los revolucionarios. Primer novelista; primer autor único de periódico, donde se denuncian cómo se torcieron las utopías. Hace más en pro de México desde que falleció; dejó sus “papeles” de excomulgado. Pasó parte de su existencia en prisión.
