The Act CXXX of 2005 re-regulated Chapter XIV of the Code of Civil Procedure on revision in law. Previous to this modification, the Constitutional Court by its Decision 42/2004. (XI. 9.) AB annulled the rules which concerned the restrictive additional conditions of the application for revision in law, and also the rules on preliminary examination of the application by the single judge of the Supreme Court. In the present study the author first briefly presents the historical background of this legal institution, then outlines the circumstances of the insertion of the revision in law in the Code of Civil Procedure. She delineates the stages of the modifications of the rules on revision in law, finally, she presents and analyses the policies of the latest rules on revision in law having entered into force on the 1" of January 2006.
