Nach Beschreibung des Prinzips der mikrobiologischen Vitaminbestimmungen zeigt die Verfasserin an — der Praxis entnommenen — Proben -den ausgedehnten Anwendungsbereich der Methode. Anhand der Bestimmung von Vitamin Bx in Mehl und Blut als Beispiel, bespricht sie die Fehlermöglichkeiten der Auswertung und anhand der Bestimmung des Pantotensäuregehaltes der Kindernährmittel die Probleme der Extraktion. Sie bestimmte weiterhin den Pantotensäuregehalt verschiedener Lebensmittel mit zwei verschiedenen mikrobiologischen Methoden und vergleicht die Resultate miteinander. Schliesslich weist sie auf die Untersuchungsmöglichkeit einer Verbindung mit Antivitaminwirkung hin. Subsequent to presenting the principle of microbiological vitamin determinations, the wide field of application of this method is shown by examples taken from the practice. The possibilities of errors in the evaluation are shown by examples of the determination of vitamin Bx in flour and in blood, while the problems emerging in the extraction procedure are discussed in connection with the determination of pantothenic acid in nutrient preparations for children. The contents of pantothenic acid were determined in foods of various types by two different microbiological methods, and the obtained data are compared with each other. Lastly, potential methods for the investigation of a compound with an antivitamin effect are pointed out.
