Verfasserin beurteilt den Wert der Teeaufgüsse auf Grund ihres Coffeingehaltes. Zu diesem Zweck verwendet sie die Coffeinreaktion nach Valentin mit der Änderung, dass die Verdünnung des Aufgusses nicht im vorhinein, sondern erst nach Abscheidung des Niederchlages erfolgt. Zum Vergleich dient der unter standardisierten Bedingungen bereitere Aufguss des verwendeten Tees. Es wird festgestellt, dass der Standardaufguss auch durch eine reine Coffeinlösung entsprechender Konzentration ersetzt werden kann. Die durch Schätzung des Coffeingehaltes gewonnenen Resultate werden auch durch Bestimmung des Trockensubstanzgehaltes des Teeaufgusses erhärtet. Schliesslich wird ein auf der Valentin’schen Reaktion beruhendes Mikroverfahren angegeben zum Nachweis von unbehandelten und extrahierten Teeblättern nebeneinander. The tea extracts are evaluated on the basis of their content of caffeine. For this purpose, the caffeine reaction of Valentin is applied with the modification that the infusion is not previously diluted but only after the formation of the precipitate. The infusion of the same batch of tea prepared under standardized conditions serves as a basis of comparison. It was found that also a solution of pure caffeine of appropriate concentrate is suitable for use instead of the standard infusion. The results obtained by this type of assessment of caffeine content are also supported by the data of determination of dry matter content of the examined tea beverage. Lastly, a method is suggested for the detection of untreated and extracted tea leaves in the presence of each other, using the micro-reaction of Valentin.
