Infolge der verschiedenen biologischen Wertigkeit der Tokopherole bzw. Tokotrienole ist es notwendig, innerhalb des gesamten Tokopherolgehaltes die einzelnen Komponenten zu kennen, es ist sogar die Kenntnis der Verteilung der in freier bzw. gebundener Form vorliegenden Tokopherole, Tokotrienole vonnöten. Die Einzelbestimmung dieser Komponenten war jedoch bis auf den heutigen Tag in Ermangelung von verhältnismässig einfachen Schnellmethoden — mit Schwierigkeiten verbunden. Verfasserin arbeitete einen Analysengang aus, welcher leicht durchzuführen ist und sich zur Trennung und quantitativen Bestimmung aller Komponenten eignet. Die gebundenen Tokopherole werden ausgefroren, die Tokotrienole durch Reduktion von neuem auf einer Dünnschicht chromatographiert. Es gelang, die beiden am schwersten trennbaren Komponenten rgamma-Tokopherol und beta-Tokotrienol nebeneinander zu bestimmen. Die mit dem neuen Analysengang erhaltenen Resultate weisen darauf hin, dass Tokopherolester selten Vorkommen (nur im Weizenkernöl waren sie vorhanden); Tokotrienole sind jedoch oft anzutreffen und ihre Bestimmung vermehrt die zurzeit bekannten Tokopherolangabe, das heisst, der gesamte Tokopherolgehalt ist in Wirklichkeit mehr, als wie es aus den bisherigen Literaturangaben hervorgeht. Les valeurs biologiques différentes des tocophérols et tocotriénols exigent la connaissance des composants différents qui torment la teneur totale en tocophérols, de plus, aussi la distribution des tocophérols et tocotriénols libres, respectivement liés. Jusqu’á présent le dosage de ces composés était difficile, étant donné qu’il n’y avait pás de méthode convenable rapide et en merne temps relativement simple. L’analyse mise au point par l’auteur est facile a effectuer et peut étre utilisée pour la séparation et ensuite le dosage de tous les composés. La séparation des tocophérols liés s’effectue par congélation qui est suivie par la Chromatographie en couche mince des tocotriénols réduits. II est mérne réussi de doser á la fois les composants les plus difficilement séparables, le gammatocophérol et le béta-tocotriénol. Les résultats obtenus par cette nouvelle voie d’analyse indiquent que les esters des tocophérols sont rares (actuellement on n’en a trouvés que dans l’huile des germes de froment), tandis qu’au contraire on a souvent ä faire ä des tocotriénols dönt le dosage augmente les valeurs de la teneur en tocophérols connues jusqu’á présent, c’est-á-dire, la teneur totale en tocophérols est plus élevée que ne le montrent les données de litérature connues. Since the biological value of tocophérols and tocotriénols differs considerably it is essantial to know the total tocopherolcontent as well as the distribution of various tocopherol various tocopherol forms, furthermore the ratip of tocotrienols and bound tocophérols (tocopherol-esters) in the natural substances investigated. In the present time, however, the separate determination of these tocopherolcomponents is connested with considerable difficulties in lack of adaquate quick and — at the same time — relatively simple methods. The author worked out a scheme of analysis with the help of which the isolation and the quantitative determination of each component can be carried out easily. The bound tocopherols (tocopherol-esters) are frozen out, the tocotriénols —after reduction —are identified with repeated thin layer chromatography. In this way the almost inseparable gamma-tocopherol and beta-tocotrienol can be isolated, too. According to data obtained by way of the new analytical scheme, bound tocophérols (tocopherol-esters) seem to ossur very seldom (e.g. in wheatseed oil); tocotriénols, however, are ubiquinous, and their amount must be added to the total tocopherolcontent of the samples hitherto determined. Thus data of total tocopherol-content published up-to-date in literature should be corrected accordingly.
