Verfasser fällt Pyrophosphat aus dem wässerigen Extrakt des Backpulvers vermittels des Fällungsmittels Zinkacetat-Essigsäure. Die Zusammensetzung des Fällungsmittels ist eine solche, dass sie das zur Abscheidung des Zinkpyrophosphates nötige optimale pH sichert. Infolge der schlechten Filtrierbarkeit des Niederschlages wird nicht filtriert, sondern der Überschuss des Fällungsmittels wird aus der klaren Lösung über der Zinkpyrophosphatfällung in Anwesenheit des Indikators Xylenolorange vermittels einer EDTE Messlösung bestimmt. Die mit der Methode erhaltenen Resultate stimmen mit den mit der gravimetrischen Methode Grossfelds erhaltenen gut überein. According to the method suggested by the author, pyrophosphate is precipitated from the aqueous extract of the baking powder with a reagent consisting of zinc acetate and acetic acid. The composition of the reagent is chosen in a way that the optimum pH value required for the precipitation of zinc pyrophosphate is simply attained by the addition of the reagent. Owing to the poor filtrability of the precipitate, instead of filtration, the excess precipitating agent is determined in the supernatant over the sedimented zinc pyrophosphate, by titration with EDTA as titrant, in the presence of xylenolorange as indicator. The results obtained with this method were in fair accordance with the data yielded by the gravimetric method of J. Grossfeld.
